----- đŸ‡ș🇾 If you had to sum up Lebanon in 6 smells, which ones would you choose? Filmmakers Ghaida Dirani and Rami Moukarzel chose 3 pleasant ones: fresh coffee, lavender, and “Tayyoun” herb; and 3 unpleasant ones: iodine, sulfur, and.. the water from Ramlet el Bayda beach. They created an artistic project around it, associating smells and sounds, during a creative physics workshop held last week, and being currently exhibited at Station Beirut . “This year I started going back and forth between Beirut and my village in the Beqaa”, explains Dirani. “I experienced the difference of smells between both: being in my mother’s garden and smelling all the nice herbs she has, then coming back to Beirut and having to cover my nose as soon as I reached the suburbs”. She then adds: “It was interesting to see the reaction of the people, some were very touched, and some were uncomfortable or in denial that this is the shit we live in.” #Liban #Lebanon #Art #arduino #Lebanesesmell #smells #smellyLebanon #odeur #denial
