TAKEOFF ! 🛫 This is the most critical phase of the flight ! When the ATC clears Us for takeoff, we complete the 'Before Takeoff' checklist, scan the weather ahead, and "here we go"... As the airplane builds up speed down the runway to reach the speed (VR) at which we initiate rotation to achieve liftoff, the Pilot Flying (PF) maintains the Runway centerline and positive control over the aircraft. The Pilot Monitoring (PM) monitors all engines parameters, aircraft speed, wind speed and variations. At this stage the adrenaline is at its highest and the stress level is acute. Things happen at a very high speed and there is no room for error. The airplane's attitude after liftoff through this phase is high, its speed is low; an equation for a very low energy level close to the ground ! This is why any failure at this stage requires immediate action. Rest assured ! This is not to scare anyone ! We pilots are very well trained for any of it. And this is still my favourite phase !
