St. Stephen cathedral. Built on the site of an old church & completed in 1910. It is one of the oldest, biggest and beautiful churches in lebanon.
It was built during the Ottoman's rule(1861-1918). Designed by the Italian architect Giusape Maggiore who also supervised its construction. Its pattern is a mixture of Byzantine and Roman arts with some influence from the Gothic art .It has three altars, the principal among which, in the center, has above it a painting of Saint Stephan by the Italian painters-Giosti.
