Saint George Maronite Cathedral;
Its construction began in 1884 and ended in 1894. It has a Neoclassical facade and the interior and plan are inspired by the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.The cathedral was heavily hit and shelled during the Lebanese civil war and a number of works of art were looted. The cathedral was restored after the end of the hostilities and was re-inaugurated on April 2000. #thelivelovetour @livelovearchitecture by @theobaf
