12ème, c’est la place du Liban dans le classement mondial des pays en termes de milliardaire par habitant. Le pays du Cèdre compte 1 milliardaire pour 586 286 habitants contre une moyenne mondiale d’1 milliardaire pour 3,9 millions d’habitants. Il y a au Liban 7 milliardaires pour une population de 4,1 millions d’habitants. Un score qui classe le Liban devant Taïwan, le Koweït et les Etats-Unis. C’est Monaco qui détient la tête du classement. Parmi les fortunes libanaises figurent notamment l’ancien premier ministre Nagib Mikati et son frère Taha, Baha’ Hariri, fils aîné de l’ancien premier ministre Rafic Hariri et le joaillier Robert Mouawad. ----------- For such a small country, Lebanon has a lot of billionaires! There are 7 of them, in a country of 4,1 million inhabitants; it’s more than 7 times the world average of 1 billionaire per 3,9 million inhabitants. Lebanon ranks at the 12th place in the world list of countries with the most billionaires per capita. It ranks before Taiwan, Kuwait or even the United States. Without big surprise, Monaco tops the list.
The Lebanese billionaires are: previous Prime Minister Najib Mikati; his brother Taha; jeweler Robert Mouawad; and the sons of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, assassinated in 2005: Bahaa, Saad, Ayman and Fahd.
