It's the largest cycling initiative in our region, and it's the most fun you'll ever have while learning something new! Come and join the first edition of our Batroun Touristic Bike Festival, where you'll be able to cycle your way among 1000 bikes in the old town of Batroun, and learn about its rich history from expert guides on location. > Event Details: o Date: July 1st starting from Wardieh Station. o Participants: More than 1000 bikes will invade the old city of Batroun. Feel free to bring your own bike! o Starting time: Registration goes on from 9 to 10am. Every cyclist will reserve his or her bike and helmet and will be given a map for navigation inside the city of Batroun and around its touristic destinations. Groups will begin moving from the starting point to the destinations around 10 am. o End time: Guided tours will end at 1pm, after which we should all be at our final destination, Colonel, where the live band will begin playing at 1:30pm. o Regulations: This event consists of a half-guided free tour. Every cyclist has around 3 hours to enjoy the city of Batroun. Two fixed guides will be positioned at every touristic destination to welcome the groups, speak about the location and explain its history, and three guides will be moving between each two destinations to escort each group to and from there every 15 minutes. Participants are free to move within groups in order to do their own thing, enjoy the fresh lemonade or street food, take scenic photos – but they will not have to navigate alone, since they can always join a different group and continue the tour. o Safety: The usual bike safety measures apply very seriously during this event. > Places to Visit: * Church of St Estephan * Church of St Georges * Lady of the Sea * Phoenician Wall * Diaspora House (the Old Phoenician Castle) * Gulf of Bahsa * Seat of the Emir We’ll end the event at Colonel Beer Brewery, where we’ll enjoy a party will live music, craft beer and a free tour in the microbrewery. . #routes #batrounfestival #2018 #outdoor #cyclingfest #fun #family #opening #touring #tourism #sunny
