Pourquoi la poubelle est revenue dans les rues libanaises? ----- 🇫🇷 La poubelle est de retour dans certaines rues de Beyrouth, du Metn et du Kesrouane. Depuis le 16 août, le parti Kataeb bloque en effet l'accès au site de construction de la nouvelle décharge de Burj Hammoud, au Nord de Beyrouth, mettant halte aux travaux. Le parti proteste contre ce qu’il qualifie de transformation de de la côte du Metn en dépotoir, et demande l'établissement d’usines de recyclages dans chaque région. En réponse, la municipalité de Burj Hammoud a fermé l'accès à la zone temporaire voisine d'emmagasinement de la poubelle. Du coup, Sukleen, la société en charge de la collecte de déchets, a arrêté de ramasser ceux destinés à être entreposés à Burj Hammoud. La poubelle s’empile donc de nouveaux dans les rues, et les premiers feux de poubelle ont déjà été signalés. ----- 🇺🇸Trash is back on the streets of some parts of Beirut, the Metn and Keserwane districts. Since August 16, Kataeb Party supporters block the access to the construction site of the newly planned Burj Hammoud landfill (North of Beirut), bringing construction to a halt. They protest against what they call the transformation the Metn coast into a garbage dump; and they call for the establishment of recycling plants in every district. In response, the Burj Hammoud municipality barred access to the temporary garbage storage lot located near the landfill where trash is being stored while awaiting the finalization of construction works. Then Sukleen, in charge of collecting the trash, stopped collecting the one destined to Burj Hammoud landfill, because of a lack of an alternative storage facility. So trash is back on the streets, with the first trash fires already being reported.
