Olives. Love love love olives. Growing up, I remember them being one of... Olives. Love love love #olives. Growing up, I remember them being one of the main sources of our livelihood. Some of the harvest would be used to preserve many olive jars to eat during the winter seasons and the rest of the crop would be turned into pure olive oil for our own personal use or to be sold as another source of income. Then there’s the pure olive soap which my parents stocked up on and that was used for washing just about everything from dishes to clothes to our our bodies. Here I am trying to hold onto a little of our heritage by keeping the olive pickling alive in our home. I must say that every now and then, when someone we know is visiting from lebanon, my cousins send me a few blocks of the pure soap and a small bottle of olive oil. These cousins are a blessing in disguise and I am so lucky that we continue to hold on to that thread that binds us together over thousands and thousands of miles across the seas. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. 🌱🌿🍃
