Lebanon in a Picture

My mother امي never seemed to be phased by the thought of guests... My #mother #امي never seemed to be phased by the thought of guests dropping in unexpectedly for a meal. She seemed to be always prepared for any occasion. "When you give with all your heart you will always find plenty to give." My #ouma 's very wise thinking. True to her words, whenever distant cousins would come to the village for a visit, in no time at all, mum would have set out a #feast on the dinning table from whatever food she could find. Eating off the land had a lot to do with it of course. We always had our chickens that lay their eggs. Potatoes were plentiful for a quick plate of hot chips and we never ran oh of #yoghurt or #labneh #لبنة thanks to the two #goats we used to own. I have learned to pickle just about anything, thanks to my mum's teaching. These days, whenever I get unexpected guests drop in, I remember my Ouma's beautiful words about having plenty. Today, I put this together with what was left over in the fridge and anything else I could find. A few boiled eggs go a long way as well as the freshly picked greens out of the garden. Sending blessings and hugs to all the beautiful mums out there and remembering the treasured ones that are no longer with us. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
