Le navire de Greenpeace à Beyrouth! / Greenpeace’s boat in Beirut! ----- (Port of Beirut) Le navire de Greenpeace à Beyrouth! / Greenpeace’s boat in Beirut! ----- 🇫🇷 Le navire de l’ONG Greenpeace, le Rainbow Warrior III était cette semaine à Beyrouth et y a organisé aujourd’hui une journée portes ouvertes. Plus de 500 Libanais ont pu rencontrer l’équipage et visiter le bateau, et ont surtout pu participer à des activités de sensibilisation à l’importance des énergies renouvelables comme l’énergie solaire pour lutter contre le changement climatique. Le bateau a lui-même été conçu pour être eco-friendly: un énorme panneau solaire y fournit l’électricité, et il navigue à voiles ouvertes près de 75 % du temps pour réduire l’utilisation d’essence. C’est la première fois que le Rainbow Warrior III accoste au Liban; Beyrouth est sa première destination dans son tour des pays arabes qui se terminera au Maroc en novembre à l’occasion de la COP22, la conférence sur le changement climatique. ----- 🇺🇸The Rainbow Warrior III was here this week! The boat of the ecological organization Greenpeace landed in Beirut port last Wednesday and held an open day this Sunday. More than 500 Lebanese got to meet the crew, discover the ship, enjoy food and music.. More importantly Greenpeace organized activities and talks to raise awareness on the importance of renewable and solar energy as a key tool to fight against climate change. Rainbow Warrior III is the first boat of the ecological organization built with sustainability in mind: the electricity on the boat is solar-powered and the boat moves using its sails around 75 % of the time to reduce fuel consumption. It’s the first time that she comes to Lebanon.
