----- 🇺🇸 Tekaya, which means pillow in Arabic, is a design brand of products made with scraps of fabric. It is the brainchild of 24-year-old Karim and his cousin Pamela, 25. Karim worked some time at the family-owned fabric factory, where he became aware of the huge amount of fabric that was wasted in the process. “I started putting the scraps aside and use them to create pillows; hence the name of the brand”, says Karim. Tekaya does what’s called “Uprising”, ie the art of giving another life to an old material. The products can be personalized. “We can reuse everything: scraps of fabric, an old tie, a cloth that one particularly cherishes…” For Karim and Pamela, it’s their way of being Lebanese: finding solutions when the State doesn’t do anything for you anymore. “It’s our way to contribute to a solution to the trash crisis.“ #entreprenariatsocial #creativelebanon #lebanesedesigners #trash #poubelles #recyclelebanon #upcycling #ecologie #design #lebanesecreations #Libanais #Lebanese #fashion
