Good morning from Anjar 🙋♀️
Every time I think I have discovered my favourite I find another! This little gem is tucked away in the Bekaa Valley and a MUST visit !
Bekaa I love you more and more each week 💚
What I found fascinating about Anjar is the presence of the Armenian culture, populated with about 2,500 inhabitants nearly all of whom are Armenian! These ruins now declared a UNESCO world heritage site are evidence of the Umayyads who under Caliph Walid Ibn Aabd-el-Malek founded the city of Anjar at the beginning of the 8th century.
