Construída em 1767, a Catedral Ortodoxa Grega de São Jorge é a sede do bispo metropolitano ortodoxo grego da Arquidiocese Ortodoxa Grega de Beirute e suas dependências. É também um dos edifícios mais antigos da cidade. Em 1975, durante a guerra civil, uma bomba caiu aqui e desenterrou as ruínas de uma igreja bizantina, agora aberta como um museu repleto de vestígios da história cristã, que é acessível pela lateral da catedral. Foto de @migeal101 🇱🇧 Built in 1767, the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral is the seat of the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan bishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Beirut and its dependencie. It is also one of the oldest buildings in the city. In 1975, during the civil war, a bomb fell here and unearthed the ruins of a Byzantine church, now open as a worthwhile museum entered down the side of the building.
