A construção desta belíssima igreja das Cruzadas nas ruas medievais acima do porto de Byblos, começou em 1115, e a estrutura foi ampliada e melhorada ao longo dos séculos seguintes. A igreja de São João Batista é, portanto, uma interessante mistura de desenhos árabes e ocidentais europeus, com restos de mosaicos bizantinos de uma estrutura anterior, resultando em um dos templos cristãos mais impressionantes do Líbano! 🇱🇧 Construction of this heartwarmingly beautiful Crusader church in the medieval streets above the Byblos harbour commenced in 1115 and the structure was extended and improved over subsequent centuries.
