Lebanon in a Picture

The heart and soul behind all that I stand for. I remember everything...

The heart and soul behind all that I stand for. I remember everything... The heart and soul behind all that I stand for. I remember everything about you especially your beautiful smile. This is one of only a few photos I have of my “Ouma” #امي, mum, when she was in her early sixties. Anywhere she went her smile would almost appear before she did. Her passion was her family, her relatives and friends. All who knew her described her in two words, a loving and generous woman. Years after she’s been gone I still hear stories, sometimes from people I haven’t even had the pleasure of meeting yet, about how generous she was. That alone makes me so damned proud. Recently one of my followers, @vintagesugarco.desserts commented on a photo I posted of my mother telling me that they remember her working at the first #lebanese #Bakery in #Australia where they used to go and buy their bread. They wrote that she would always hand over a freshly baked piece of bread to the children for free. There are no words that can describe the joy I felt after reading this comment. Yes, my mother was a generous woman. She would make kibbeh balls and yogurt jars and give them out to her loved ones. Never forgotten dear beautiful Wadad or Widooooo which was our pet name for her. Wishing you all a weekend filled with gathering and bunching up a whole lotta beautiful memories. ❤️❤️❤️
