I have told this story before but I will share it again because it means a lot to me and it’s one of my most cherished memories of when I was about 6 years old and still living in my beautiful village Abdine in North #lebanon. Although we did not grow up eating much fish, I, now, try to include it in my family's diet at least once a week. My fondest memory of fish is of a kind old fish merchant that would come to the village every Friday selling two types of fish only, #sardines and bait fish. His voice would echo through the village way before he was seen. "We have fish. Bait is the fish. Come and get your fish." He would casually carry the fish in an ice filled box on top of his head and carry the scales in his hands. No bags were supplied by the #fisherman as the #village woman would bring their own bowls or plates to carry their fish in. We didn't mind the bait fish back then. We didn't have to pick out any bones and besides, Muma would always fry bread after the #fish and that crunchy bread was to die for. Wishing you all a weekend filled with peace and joy. 🙏❤️🌷
